Roles and Responsibilities.
The responsibilities of the participants include loging into and engaging in group
conversations with Detective Senior Constable Cameron Woodall from Taskforce Argos Child Safety and Sexual Crime Group. He will be involved in a wimba, postman session at 6:00pm on Thursday 16 August for about half an hour, to answer questions regarding internet safety.
The participants are expected to engage in discussions on cyber safety and we would like learners to learn and develop skills and information required to use computers safely - both in the classroom and in a private settings.
It is our aim to engage the participants with interesting relevant information and allow them to spend time viewing and working through each page - completing
questionnaires, comment sections, games and listening to videos. It is the
participants' role to develop a range of techniques to use and implement in relation to computer safety. It is important that all participants interact, discuss and reflect on learning with others. The question focuses on issues around the use of ICT in learning and teaching while being implemented into the curriculum.
The pedagogical model
Our central metaphor for learning will be the use of connectivism. Connectivism
provides a new theory of learning, where we will be using a connectivism
approach, allowing us to learn through practice and reflection and the use of a
network. (Siemens, 2005).
Instead of presenting contemporary information and knowledge in a linear sequential manner, learners can be provided with a rich array of tools and information sources to
use in creating their own learning pathways.
